Omega-3 Green Smoothies

On busy weeknights, we don't always have time to cook, and we don't have many (or any) options for takeout that adheres to our diet! On those days, a Green Smoothie pinch hits, with a side of rolls or muffins, or whatever we happen to have in the pantry!

Description

We made this smoothie as more of a meal replacer than a beverage. This smoothie has about 1/2 cup of orange juice per serving, which is something that I don't normally allow as it isn't a whole food; however, in this case it disguises  spinach, avocado, flax seeds and hemp seeds - all things that have great anti-inflammatory benefits and lots of plant-based protein and healthy fats, and which my kids refuse to eat otherwise!

Ingredients
  • 2 cup Spinach
  • 1.5 cup Orange Juice
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 2 tbsp Flax
  • 2 tbsp Hemp
Instructions
  1. Blend

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
